Slightly less CPU usage ( audiodg.exe ), options for both, Rear & Side speakers for 5.1 setups, ability to manage Crossover ( on Enhancements -> Bass Management ) and ability to manage the volume of each speaker separately ( properties -> levels -> balance ).
